About
Agnes Sullivan, D. Mgt. L.C.S.W. Certified Advanced Schema Therapist, Approved Trainer & Supervisor Director of The Schema Therapy Institute, London, United Kingdom.
I have been practicing as a psychotherapist for 30 years in a variety of clinical settings including private practice, hospital, forensic and community locations. We founded the Schema Therapy Institute, London in 2010. We provide training and supervision in Schema Therapy, collaborating other Schema Therapy Institutes, internationally.
Background: I obtained my initial clinical experiences working for the NHS, building a strong clinical foundation in psychodynamic psychotherapy at Westminster Pastoral Foundation, and an MSc from the University of Surrey, and Master of Clinical Social Work from Fordham University in New York. I have been involved in initiating government projects on domestic violence and addiction prevention, in the USA and UK, and obtained my professional doctoral degree in 2012. I specialize in individual, couples and group therapy, and am also an accredited EFT couples therapist and combining this approach with Schema Therapy in couples/family work. I teach undergraduate and graduate trainees, supervise clinicians in monitoring outcomes and developing treatment programmes, and have an interest in looking at the development of schemas and place of spirituality in schema healing.
